View is WSW from a point within the compound just to the west of the 700 block of E. Houston. The flag pole is on top of the Alamo Chapel. The Hugo & Schmeltzer Building (1877) has been razed (1912), however, the second story stonework of the convento is present. The second story will be completely razed within a few months. This photo crop demonstrates the movement of digital items on the internet. The white bands above and below the photograph indicate that the crop was made from one of the photographs at an excellent internet site, “ALAMO IMAGES: FROM THEN TO NOW,” and then used without any type of credit.
